Things are back on the boil here at the Champion office, with new team members joining and new filming dates looming on the horizon.

But first, we have some exciting news for one of our current team members …

Everyone here at “Champion” was absolutely delighted to learn yesterday that our indomitable Co-Producer, Marg Woodlock McLean was named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours with an Order Of Australia for services to Sport and the Community!

Currently working in the film world as part of the Incognita Enterprises team (responsible for the award-winning web series Shakespeare Republic, as well as co-producing Champion with Ben Steel Films), Marg has been actively involved in the Sporting arena since competing in the 1956 Olympics as a teenager.

She has since held positions in the Olympic movement, including serving as a member of the Executive of the Olympians Club of Victoria,  as well as serving the community with organizations including the Girl Guide movement, Red Cross and Sports Medicine First Aid, among others.

The full listing accompanying the announcement of her OAM is below.

We heartily congratulate Marg on this honour. It is so well deserved and we are so proud of both her and her achievements!

More news coming soon! In the meantime, we are still accepting donations for the next lot of filming. Want to help? You’ll find all the details at the Documentary Australia Foundation here: https://www.documentaryaustralia.com.au/films/482/a-life-unexpected-the-man-behind-the-miracle-mile
